Hello, Hot Pink! We finally meet! After keeping our color palettes pretty gender neutral for the past two years (note Clementine’s black and white pieces and Darla’s acid wash denim), pink has found a way to creep itself in this summer! And you know what? I can’t say that I mind too much. I haven’t bought in to tutus and sparkles just yet, but pink – pink has its high notes, especially when it comes in 80’s/90’s neon!
For living in LA, we really don’t venture to the beach as much as you might expect us to. Seriously though, have you tried taking two under two that both nurse, all their junk, packed real food, and your camera through urban traffic to a major drowning hazard on your own before? Yeah, its pretty much as low-stress as it sounds.
Instead, we like to frequent nearby splash pads and kiddie pools, or simply enjoy sensory water play in our courtyard with a tub, cups, and sieve. Regardless of where we get wet though, cute bathing suits and sun outfits are a major California must!
The problem: they can cost a pretty penny. Lots of mid-range indie designer sun/swim suits start at $50-70! I can get an entire accessorized outfit going for under those figures. Even Target charges $20+ for baby swimwear which may be considered reasonable, but I still felt we could get cuter, cheaper, and more eco than that.
Plus, we’ve had all kinds of fun finding & styling vintage bathing suits lately. Both suits featured today came from an Instagram shop and were cheap, cheap, cheap!
