One of the ways we are able to support the work of the blog is through affiliate links.
What are Affiliate Links?
Affiliate links are links to products and stores that have a special tracking id linked back to our blog. When you purchase items through these links, many times the blog is entitled to a small commission. It is safe to assume that all (with exception of a very select few) of the products that we link to are affiliate links.
What does this mean for our readers?
In short… nothing. The prices stay the same for you and the purchase is carried out as normal. (If you want to support us by shopping through our links, here is a list of Our Favorite suppliers and products that we have affiliate links with.)
Are our recommendations trustworthy?
Because we may be entitled to make money off of your purchases, it is only natural to wonder if our opinions are influenced by money. Well, you don’t have to wonder because that is not the case!
One of my favorite things about being an affiliate with Amazon (that is an affiliate link!) is that they have such a wide variety of options for me to choose from and link to, especially when it comes to natural beauty ingredients and everyday household items. This huge assortment means that I have SO many options of what to link to, and I can find the greenest, most affordable product that I myself have tried and loved.
What about Product Reviews and Giveaways?
The point of product reviews is to benefit our readers by doing the dirty work of researching and sampling so that you don’t have to. Many products that we link to or write about have been purchased by us. Sometimes companies will give us a product for free to sample and write a review for. In cases like these, that information will be disclosed to you in the post. Even when we receive something for free, we are in no way obligated to give a positive review. All reviews and opinions offered are thorough and fully honest. We will praise the things we liked and critique the parts that we didn’t.
Giveaways are generally sponsored by the distributing company. Again, you can trust that we are not required (nor would we agree to) saying anything about items we are giving away that is not fully honest and as thorough as possible.
Ads & Sponsored Posts
In the event that a company has paid us to advertise or do a write up on their products or services, we will disclose that info plainly to you. The reality is that we want to limit (or not be involved at all) in these kind of relationships, as being a reliable source to our readers is more important to us than making a profit.
